We’re back again with another featured artist article. We’re going back over the pond to America’s East Coast.

Fame or Juliet

Fame or Juliet

It might seem that we’re a bit biased towards hip hop artists from the States, but that’s not the case. Just the other day I wrote a piece on Captain Backfire. And he’s not hip hop. Nah!

So, moving forward, back to the job at hand and all that, let me introduce you to Fame or Juliet. [Great name, by the way].

Who are Fame or Juliet?

Fame or Juliet are three 19 year old hip hop artists from Boston, MA. There’s rapper and singer Caleb, rapper Jerminez aka Nova and the producer J Forte. They say that they..

…wanted to separate ourselves by creating our own lane by inspiring people with our music and to make our music relatable.  Our music is as real as it can get because we only write about our personal lives’ and experiences.

According to the numerous sites I’ve gone through, Fame Or Juliet has inspired and excited a few people with their style and lyric content.

Drawing their musical influences from Phil Collins, Coldplay and Kanye West, their diverse tastes bring an interesting mix to what they produce together.

Check out their “The Art of Flow video to get a vibe of what they’re all about:

What do you think? Pretty fly, huh?

That’s not all. They’ve also been gigging hard to get their name out. They’ve even opened up for Mac Miller, infront of a 40,000 crowd at the Boston Urban Music Fest.

Here’s a snip of an interview they did with Mike J, from WER 88.9 FM after their B.U.M.F performance..

…without an official mix tape or album the group has already garnered a great deal of attention and buzz on the local music scene…Continue reading here: Fame or Juliet WERS 88.9 FM

You know we find the hidden gems from both the UK and the U.S. :)

This is part 2 of the two part Saturday 14 May interview session.

As I mentioned in part 1, it was a busy day with six sets of artists coming in.

Like all the artists that pass through NSTV, this second set of artists are very talented, down to earth and always reinforces the reason why we do what we do.

Dirty Little Secrets

So, following on, next to perform and get interviewed by Rachel Mullins (@raemullins), was Dirty Little Secrets (@DirtyLSecretUK).

Dirty Little Secrets

Dirty Little Secrets

A five member band from Surrey, Dirty Little Secret describe their music style as anything from melodic rock to metal.

With an aim to get signed, they’re busy building up their ever growing fan base by writing original songs and gigging as much as possible.

Check out Dirty Little Secret’s performance and interview here.

Katie Morgan

Next in was singer songwriter coming in all the way from Wales, was Katie Morgan (@katiessongs).

Katie’s music can be described being soulful with a jazzy feel.

She writes her songs with musician Brian Clayton, who would “rather stay in the background and let Katie take the shine”. His words.

From gigging around the UK, trying to get more exposure, Katie and Brian found that they have quite a following in Germany.

Catch the soulful sounds of Katie Morgan with Brian Clayton on the strings in their performance and interview here.

Lovely

Last in to complete this busy day was a delightful artist by the name of Lovely (@lovely4music).

Lovely

Lovely

Lovely, which by the way is his real name, describes his music as being simple music. Nicely put.

However, after further prodding Lovely says that he will fall into various genres from soul, folk and acoustic.

Gigging all over Essex and London, Lovely, has a killer voice and is great on the guitar. All that talent and being only 17 years old!

Click here to check out Lovely’s acoustic performance and interview.

That’s ya lot..

Right, there you have it. A packed day with six talented unsigned artists, Ranging from hip hop all the way to metal. Just how we like it, nice and diverse.

Make sure you follow these artists via their twitter handles. Connect with them also and mention where you discovered of them first :) .

Big, large shout out to Rachel Mullins, who done a super professional job – like all the presenters here at NSTV.

The sun was shining, even though it was trying its hardest to ruing the photos by hiding between clouds, no, I’m here again, now I’m gone again, type of scenario. All in all, it was a good day and all artists turned up. Yay!

Eastenders Make Over Track, What Do You Think?

Hey peeps check out this cover version of the infamous Eastenders soundtrack ‘Anyone Can Fall In Love’ by an artist called ‘Kindness’, from the Anita Dobson’s 1986 original.
